Hi, how YOU doin?

Matthew Detrick here reflecting on how we can use gratitude in our leadership values

In our life, *especially* in today’s world, people are looking to those who exude leadership with integrity.  How can you have complete integrity without first being grateful for what you have in your life right now?

Sure, the world might be in a bit of turmoil.

Sure, your life and/or business might not always go the way you want it to.

(how’s THAT for a mindset shift from “what went wrong” to “what didn’t go the way I wanted it to that I can learn from”)

Surely, things had to happen to get you where you’re at right now. Usually, the best things are right in front of you, a “diamond in the rough” so to speak.

Pick out those things you have to be grateful for right now (your computer, which gae you the ability to read this post, perhaps?) and begin leading with complete integrity. Expressing your feelings of gratitude to those you lead demonstrate a state of calmness under pressure whilst giving others confidence in your leadership values.

Finding those things also gives you the opportunity to take something that otherwise would have gotten you down, and turning it into something good. Turning it into something good serves you by giving you something to work with, thus adding increased value to others, giving THEM something to be grateful for.

See how that works from one simple feeling of gratitude?
