To find good pain management in N. Ireland isn’t as easy as you might think. Many sources of help really are all about medication which IN MY EXPERIENCE, is sometimes not that helpful.
So what exactly is MY EXPERIENCE?
In 1997 I fractured my back, I was working as an actor in the west end, working on Jesus Christ Superstar when I had a fall fracturing my back and damaging a few other body parts at the same time… It hurt.
A lot.
They say that kind of injury is as close any man will come to the level of pain suffered in childbirth…(Thankfully, I’m never gonna find out for sure if thats true or not!!)
Amazingly, I recall doing the breathing they teach in those classes… seems your body has it’s own wisdom… I used Hypnosis on day three, stopped taking my pain medication because I wanted to be able to hear what my body was telling me more clearly.. see some pain is saying stop doing what you’re doing immediately, and some pain is just an annoyance serving no real function.. when you learn how to distinguish between the two types of pain at the unconcious level of mind the annoying pain can be reduced… Your mind-body system has learned which pain can be ignored. Pain killers on the otherhand, sometimes make you numb to the fact that the way you’re sitting is making the injury worse or shrouding the fact that you should not be lifting that heavy item…
I recommend if you have chronic ongoing aggravating pain, to come along and learn how to handle it properly.
Oh, by the way, I qualified as a Yoga teacher in 2002…
Below you’ll see a video which explains a little more about pain management using hypnosis and if you want to learn pain managementin Belfast give me a call.. My numbers on the contact us page..
You’ll be glad to hear I don’t use any of these torture tactics!!!!
practically every other Hypnotherapist in N. Ireland. You’ll learn which techniques suit you best, and several quick fix skills which you can apply right away… and of course it works great for childbirth pain control too.. Hey maybe there’s some truth in what they say … Till next time, rest easy…
Michael.
